The Complete Guide to the Vuba Stone Resin Bound System

Advanced Resin Bound Technology for Driveways, Patios & Outdoor Spaces

The Vuba Stone System is a high-performance resin bound surfacing solution that combines premium natural stone aggregates with a specialist UV-stable polyurethane resin to create a seamless, permeable, and highly durable surface. Unlike traditional epoxy-based systems, Vuba’s UV-stable resin is specifically engineered for outdoor environments, helping prevent yellowing, brittleness, and premature wear caused by sun exposure.

The system consists of a decorative VubaStone resin bound topping applied over a structurally sound base such as concrete, asphalt, or the patented VubaMac base system. VubaMac is designed to form a strong monolithic bond between base and topping layers, improving long-term performance. Optional binding quartz can be incorporated into the mix to enhance strength, texture, and slip resistance.

Once installed, the surface forms a smooth, joint-free finish with no loose stones. Because the aggregates are fully encapsulated in resin before application, the finished surface remains fully permeable and SuDS compliant, allowing water to naturally drain through the system and reducing surface runoff and standing water.

Key Benefits

The Vuba Stone System delivers long-lasting durability with flexibility that helps resist cracking from temperature fluctuations and ground movement. It provides a low-maintenance surface that can be easily cleaned with sweeping or light pressure washing. The system is slip resistant, suitable for both pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and available in a wide range of decorative aggregate blends to complement residential and commercial properties.

Pros & Cons

Pros: UV-stable and weather resistant, fully permeable, seamless finish, decorative customization options, crack resistance, and suitable for driveways, patios, walkways, pool surrounds, and commercial spaces.

Cons: Higher upfront investment than standard concrete or asphalt, requires professional installation to ensure correct mixing ratios and base preparation, and localized repairs require careful aggregate color matching.
